Richie – I’m 48 yrs. old and have been smiling, listening to your solo, BS, Poco, SHF songs since the mid-70s. I woke-up this morning, dreaming/singing:… “…and it’s been raining on the freeway, ’bout as far as I can see…”. It’s sunny & beautiful at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon in SLC, UT….as it usually is. Maybe it was my memories of Memphis and TN…w/dreams; one never really knows.
To me – POCO is truly not POCO – w/o your wonderful voice & soul…….Of c., I have all of Poco’s albumns and CDs……fav. is ‘Forgotten Trail’….especially your inspirations….truly a Good Feelin’ to Know (fav. song)! Only saw you w/Poco in Nashville’s Summer Lights in the 80s (my former hometown)…many moons ago. Saw Poco 2 yrs. ago in Park City, UT.
Wondering what are the odds on your playing w/Poco during their stints in Divide, CO….since you live in the neck of the woods, etc.?? Unfortly, all of the NY/NJ venues are too far from Utah & difficult time for traveling w/kids prepping for school, etc. It would be good to see an old friend…though, we’ve never met in person.
Anyone that has any pictures of Wildwood please send them to thebuffalospringfield@gmail.com so we can get them up on the site!
Thanks.
Tom
Thank you Claudia for the great pics! We’ll be getting them up soon. You’re the best!
If anyone else has any good shots please send them on over.
Thanks!
Tom,
My PNC photos have been deliverd to the buffalo springfield address. Hope you like them!
Jeff
Thanks for the pics Jeff!
Glad everyone had a fun time at Wildwood. Looking forward to the New England tour in August

Wow…blog here, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter…Richie — you have definitely embraced technology!! And all the better for us fans. The only thing remaining is to show up across the country in person with the whole band!
AMEN SISTER!
Enjoyed reading your comments about Stagecoach, Richie. There truly was “a little bit of magic” in the air that day. A couple of my favorite words apply…serendipity, propinquity. Whatever happens in the future, those 70 or so minutes on stage in Indio will stand as a shining example of “brotherhood in music”. I can never thank everyone enough for such a great gift. ♥♥♥
I’ve just been watching the ‘youtube” clips of the Stagecoach shows.
What a blast………..having Tim & George on stage as well.
Just goes to show that good music, played for all the right reasons never dies or goes out of style.
Hey Neil,
It was a very special day for all of us. I’m glad you’re enjoying the youtube of the event. It’s kinda nice that folks who weren’t there can see for themselves that we were having some fun and then some! Thanks for visiting my website.
Richie
Ritchie, I was truly BLESSED at Stagecoach!!! I thank you for stepping out and getting together with the band, it made my year so far, I’m still reeling from it. When the concert was over I felt there was no other reason to stay(at the festival), the rest was just noise. I still weep as I read your take on the festival and it reminds me of what a blessing I had in being there. Thanx again!!!
Richie I remember you played at Calvary Chapel Bellmawr New Jersey in 2004 I think it was that year.
I think Scot was playing also. Harry Presley is our pastor.
You autographed a copy of the cd “In my My Fathers House ‘for me.What a great alblum! I enjoyed your show that night and talking to you .The best part is you are saved and making good music.
My wife and I hope to see you in concert hear in NJ.
Thank’s and God bless you brother.
I just happen to find that Stagecoach gig on YouTube last week. Had I known that was going to happen, I’d have flown cross country to see it! It certainly did bring back memories but the thing that impressed me the most was that the quality of the music was still there. Plus, George looked great. Never thought I’d see him again. He’s a nice guy.
Richie, I didn’t know you had a second hip replacement. Looks as if you’ve healed well.
I still have a photo of you w/ Timmy Sue sitting on your lap that your mom sent me in ’75, I think. It’s hanging on the wall in my office along with other significant photos–Fenway Park, me sitting on a bench on Liberty Island with the twin towers in the background, my nieces, nephews, god children and friends.
You’ve earned a spot on my wall because your mom was so kind to me (I think I’ve told you that she fed and housed my friend and me when we were traveling thru Ohio on the way home to CT from the West Coast. Threw us in the shower, in fact!) and you have been such an inspiration.
I’m still on the fence about the Christianity thing but I do enjoy reading the Bible. (Hey, that’s a start!) Looking at it from a purely academic perspective, it’s an interesting book written by wise, perceptive, intelligent people.
I don’t think I need to request this because I’m assuming you’re planning to play “Kind Woman” in Fairfield, CT next month. It is my all time favorite song of yours because it speaks to a man’s pure love for his wife. (Not too much of that going around lately… )
I’ll try to catch up with you after the show to say hi. I think Naomi would have liked that. May I ask you for a photo of her?
I regret that I did not take one when I met her in ’78 but we were out of gas, out of money, out of film, etc. In fact, she had to give us twenty bucks to get us home.
Take care of you, Richie!
When a guy is 57 years of age, like I am, life is full of good and sad memories. ‘On the way home’ is a simple but lovely tune, that for me over the years, in all its simpliciy, remained one of the best rock or pop songs, whatever you wanna call it, ever written and it was a part of my life ever since the first time I heard it. I would like to thank you, Richie, for it gave and still gives me so much pleasure and reminds me of a beautiful period in my life.

Oh boy, the songs on those set lists!
I was completely surprised at seeing “Sad Memory” on the list.
What a great choice among a bunch of great choices.
Are any of the shows being filmed for future DVD release? It’s a shame if they’re not.
Richie – From a fan since the late 60′s! – Here is a great place for you and band to play in the Chicago area. Durty Nellie’s Irish Pub and Music Club – Palatine, IL – NW suburb of Chicago. richie-thank you for the great time at copper mountain. The show was wonderful and it was an honor to meet you after the set. I too am a born again Christian, and it is easy to see that Christ is in you. Most people have to work at their craft, you sir have fun at yours. Even the clouds opened up when you played. thanks for the trip down memory lane and i look forward to seeing you in the future. May God remain in your life-Randy
Richie/Scott/Aaron/Alan and Jesse,
Thanks for the wonderful evening at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA! The sound and the performance was electrifying…..just as you promised Richie before the show…..there was no “letting up”.
RIchie, I hope that old photo brought back some “good” memories for you.
Scott, as per your request….I’m honored to be writing here on this blog for the first time. I thought I would share some thoughts from my heart.
For the countless Richie Furay fans (Poconuts, BS, SHF), you guys know the immense talent this group has. I don’t need to repeat what’s been said here already.
For the people that are curious or newly interested in the Richie Furay Band, here’s what I can tell you. Catch one of the shows if you can, or buy a CD.This group puts it’s heart and soul into each song. As a musician that attended many performances, I left this show feeling good. Maybe it’s Richie’s infectious optimism, I dunno. But I can tell you the sound was tight and upbeat. The songs are based on strong harmonies……you know……the kind that “warms” your soul. You don’t experience that too much nowadays.
Scott, Richie gets his money’s worth out of you. Switching from keyboards, banjo to guitar in one song…….amazing. Great riffs on the solos……
Jesse, your solo was fantastic…..such a beautiful voice.
Alan, didn’t hear a missed beat. I really enjoyed the way you played each tune, not overpowering….kicking the beat up at the right moment…..playing into each song “embellishing” at the right moment.
Aaron, I felt every big note……I think you guys set up the bass amp right in front of me. Great playing dude……enjoyed some of those walking bass lines.
Anyway, thanks a million!
Steve R.
do you have your tour dates posted? Just saw the stagecoach clips- really great to hear all of you-any more reunions in the future?
I am a fan from the 70s (actually saw Poco at Buffalo State College) and what was considered a Jesus freak at the time. I can still smile and dance to this music while praising God. Thank you.
Hi Richie,
just wanted to say how much your music has always meant to me, I was lucky enough to meet you at the wildwood when Rusty and marie were married, I have a collection of all my favorite country rock artists on my wall, is there any way I can get a signed photo of you?
Thanks
Rob Norton
Hi Richie,
Have appreciated your music from way back in Buffalo Springfield days through Poco, Souther Hillman Furay Band and your solo work to present day, especially the worship cds and Heartbeat of Love. I purchased your Alive cd at the beginning of 2009 and you had made the comment on the receipt you’d love to get down under to Oz someday to play the music. If the Good Lord opens the way, it would be very cool if the band could come our way.
Every blessing.

I’m not sure what inspired me to look up the song “For What It’s Worth”, but just surfing the net, I decided I wanted to listen to it on Layla.com.
I began to read a little bit about Buffalo Springfield and learned that you were one of the original members. I may have known that and forgotten it, I suppose.
Then I learned you were originally from Yellow Springs, OH. I live not far from Yellow Springs so I thought that was spectacular for reasons I cannot explain.
I have followed your career for many years, though it has been some time since I’ve owned vinyl. I had Poco albums, Souther, Hillman, Furay albums and loved Loggins & Messini.
Some of the greatest music ever written came out of those years and you seemed to be a part of it. Good on ya.
Outstanding that you have had such a wonderful family life, long marriage and are now a Christian. So am I.
Well, I refrain from further slobbering all over you via the Internet. But, I just wanted to tell you I’ve been listening to your music for a very, very long time.

Dear Richie
I read on you website that you had your second hip replacement. I’m glad it worked out for you. I was wondering what it is like. You see I may have to get a hip replacement myself. Right now it is hard to get around but I still don’t want to do it. Does it help? Thank you for your time.
Vern
hello richie, to start out i am 62 years old so i have know and like you for some forty years. Don’t go to church anymore .but oneday i sat in church alone talking to HIM asking and praying to give me a sign or talk to me. then i hear the words i looked to the right i saw the word in a line come in my ear and go out my left ear and fad into air. the words were, Beleve In Me I`am HEAR Now Go. kenneth day
hello mr. richie, really don’t want this to sound like another silly fan letter, but,
i just wanted to say thanks, SO VERY MUCH, for the bridge school shows. i saw you guys twice at the hollywood bowl[ with the stones and the khj show], and made my dad take me to the last show in long beach. it was always with great pride that i was able to say that i was at that long beach show.
when i saw in the long beach paper about the bridge school show i went thru all the work of getting time off from work, hotel reservations, rent a car, figure out where mountain view was.
i had never done anything like this for any concert.
it was more than worth it.
that you opened the show with my favorite song was mind blowing. thank you for doing the shows. hope you enjoyed yourself as much as i did.
mario
i am looking for the song(search me oh god) from the album maranatha country roundup . i would like it on cd. lead singer was richie furay. could you help me find copy?
Love your work. Can’t wait for Buffalo Springfield to play LA!
I wrote this last summer, I think it was, after I discovered your website but before I heard about the Bridge School gig! I’m happy to say it’s way outta date! lol
Hey, m’man!
I just had to stop by and say what a pleasure it’s always been to listen to your music and instrumentations.
However, the one thing I’ll always miss is a reunion of Buffalo Springfield! You see, it was the Springfield that put me on the music path upon which I now trod! I heard you guys play at Majestic Hills in Lake Geneva, WI, back in the mid-Sixties, and I fell in love your music immediately! Up until that time, I’d been a fan of the Four Seasons, the Beach Boys, and that ilk of music! Of course, though the Beach Boys were/are a seminal band of Rock & Roll and Frankie Valli’s voice is likewise a unique sound, when I heard Buffalo Springfield play I was smitten—followed you ever since through your various incarnations, but, dad gum, the Springfield sends me still! “Rock & Roll Woman,” “Bluebird”—can’t get enough of it!
Richie –
I am 43 years old but have been listening to Buffalo Springfield since I was a little kid. Never get tired of it. I live in Ft. Collins.
Please, please, please talk Neil & Stephen into adding some BS dates in Colorado! Red Rocks would be sweet….maybe an impromptu warm-up gig at Mishawaka up the Poudre Canyon!!! Just not Fiddler’s Green!
Right on! Hope to see you play soon! God bless!
Wow! Went to the Buffalo Springfield concert last night in Oakland, CA. Brought back so many memories of better times. I’ve continued to listen to BS & Poco for over 40 years, none of the music produced since can compare to the sounds of the 60′s!
Thank you for the reunion tour!
I recall seeing one of Richie’s interviews on youtube where he made the comment that the Buffalo Springfield had thought at the time they were together in the past that the only real competition they had was the Beatles…that they really thought they were that good. Well, in my honest opinion, they were that good!
Am still glowing after seeing you Wednesday night at the Santa Barbara County Bowl !! I was (literally) moved to tears with “Sad Memory” Never got to see you with Buffalo Springfield, but one of my all-time favorite concerts was Poco at the Santa Monica Civic (2 nights in a row).
Anyway, I am anxiously awaiting word of Buffalo Springfield’s dates at the end of summer and will (hopefully) see you again.
In the meantime, really want to buy some BS t-shirts, but need them in Men’s
Large (which are not available, I’m guessing out of stock)
Thank you again for (unknowingly) being a huge part of my life, and iPod
(Springfield, Poco and SHF) – I’ve been lucky enough to see Hillman and
Souther at McCabes in Santa Monica too (my favorite place ever)
Happy Trails,
D.J.
Richie,
I saw Poco in San Francisco when I was stationed at Fort Ord, California in 1973 and have been a fan ever since. I lost interest (somewhat) after you left the group but I have always remembered that awesome concert! In April, 2009, my wife and I took our 21 year old son to see Poco in Arroyo Grande, California at an intimate little place called The Clark Center and it brought back a flood of memories.
When I saw that Buffalo Springfield was playing in Santa Barbara, I decided it would be my Father’s Day gift for the three of us to attend. We were there for the first show and we were not disappointed. We had seen CSN at Avila Beach but I have always been a fan of Neil Young and had never seen him perform. I always pictured him as being dark and introspective. I never realized what a comedian he is! Stephen turned out to be the more taciturn.
Thanks for all the memories and don’t ever stop. You still have a great talent.
Hi Greg,
Appreciated your comment re none of the music produced since compares with the sounds of the sixties. I agree with that. Good to see folk like Richie, Barry McGuire, John York and Cliff Richard and the Shadows still getting out to tour as is practicable. Keep on enjoying Richie’s music.
Cheers
Peter Stimson

The Gang wants Buffalo Springfield to play (in order of preference): 1) Radio City Music Hall 2) Carnegie Hall 3) Beacon Theater. If you play any of these three The Gang will be happy. Any time between October 1 and the end of the year will be fine.
Ritchie,
So glad you’ve been able to have a life, a family and a devotion to spirit while still navigating the music business.

What time does the RFB In Milwaukee on Nov. 3 start? I found the one in Evanston on the 2nd, but the show in Milwaukee doesn’t give a time. I live right inbetween the two towns so I’m going to treat myself to a good time and some good tunes!
Oooops! I meant “. . . RFB show in Milwaukee . . .” lol
Any 2012 / 2013 concerts coming up for Buffalo Springfield Revisited?
