  1. Richie – I’m 48 yrs. old and have been smiling, listening to your solo, BS, Poco, SHF songs since the mid-70s. I woke-up this morning, dreaming/singing:… “…and it’s been raining on the freeway, ’bout as far as I can see…”. It’s sunny & beautiful at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon in SLC, UT….as it usually is. Maybe it was my memories of Memphis and TN…w/dreams; one never really knows.

To me – POCO is truly not POCO – w/o your wonderful voice & soul…….Of c., I have all of Poco’s albumns and CDs……fav. is ‘Forgotten Trail’….especially your inspirations….truly a Good Feelin’ to Know (fav. song)! Only saw you w/Poco in Nashville’s Summer Lights in the 80s (my former hometown)…many moons ago. Saw Poco 2 yrs. ago in Park City, UT.

Wondering what are the odds on your playing w/Poco during their stints in Divide, CO….since you live in the neck of the woods, etc.?? Unfortly, all of the NY/NJ venues are too far from Utah & difficult time for traveling w/kids prepping for school, etc. It would be good to see an old friend…though, we’ve never met in person.

  2. Anyone that has any pictures of Wildwood please send them to thebuffalospringfield@gmail.com so we can get them up on the site!

    Thanks.

  3. Glad everyone had a fun time at Wildwood. Looking forward to the New England tour in August

  4. Wow…blog here, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter…Richie — you have definitely embraced technology!! And all the better for us fans. The only thing remaining is to show up across the country in person with the whole band! ;-)

  5. Enjoyed reading your comments about Stagecoach, Richie. There truly was “a little bit of magic” in the air that day. A couple of my favorite words apply…serendipity, propinquity. Whatever happens in the future, those 70 or so minutes on stage in Indio will stand as a shining example of “brotherhood in music”. I can never thank everyone enough for such a great gift. ♥♥♥

  6. I’ve just been watching the ‘youtube” clips of the Stagecoach shows.
What a blast………..having Tim & George on stage as well.
Just goes to show that good music, played for all the right reasons never dies or goes out of style.

    • Hey Neil,
It was a very special day for all of us. I’m glad you’re enjoying the youtube of the event. It’s kinda nice that folks who weren’t there can see for themselves that we were having some fun and then some! Thanks for visiting my website.

  7. Ritchie, I was truly BLESSED at Stagecoach!!! I thank you for stepping out and getting together with the band, it made my year so far, I’m still reeling from it. When the concert was over I felt there was no other reason to stay(at the festival), the rest was just noise. I still weep as I read your take on the festival and it reminds me of what a blessing I had in being there. Thanx again!!!

  8. Richie I remember you played at Calvary Chapel Bellmawr New Jersey in 2004 I think it was that year.
I think Scot was playing also. Harry Presley is our pastor.
You autographed a copy of the cd “In my My Fathers House ‘for me.What a great alblum! I enjoyed your show that night and talking to you .The best part is you are saved and making good music.
My wife and I hope to see you in concert hear in NJ.
Thank’s and God bless you brother.

  9. I just happen to find that Stagecoach gig on YouTube last week. Had I known that was going to happen, I’d have flown cross country to see it! It certainly did bring back memories but the thing that impressed me the most was that the quality of the music was still there. Plus, George looked great. Never thought I’d see him again. He’s a nice guy.

Richie, I didn’t know you had a second hip replacement. Looks as if you’ve healed well.

I still have a photo of you w/ Timmy Sue sitting on your lap that your mom sent me in ‘75, I think. It’s hanging on the wall in my office along with other significant photos–Fenway Park, me sitting on a bench on Liberty Island with the twin towers in the background, my nieces, nephews, god children and friends.

You’ve earned a spot on my wall because your mom was so kind to me (I think I’ve told you that she fed and housed my friend and me when we were traveling thru Ohio on the way home to CT from the West Coast. Threw us in the shower, in fact!) and you have been such an inspiration.

I’m still on the fence about the Christianity thing but I do enjoy reading the Bible. (Hey, that’s a start!) Looking at it from a purely academic perspective, it’s an interesting book written by wise, perceptive, intelligent people.

I don’t think I need to request this because I’m assuming you’re planning to play “Kind Woman” in Fairfield, CT next month. It is my all time favorite song of yours because it speaks to a man’s pure love for his wife. (Not too much of that going around lately… )

I’ll try to catch up with you after the show to say hi. I think Naomi would have liked that. May I ask you for a photo of her?

I regret that I did not take one when I met her in ‘78 but we were out of gas, out of money, out of film, etc. In fact, she had to give us twenty bucks to get us home.

    Take care of you, Richie!

  10. When a guy is 57 years of age, like I am, life is full of good and sad memories. ‘On the way home’ is a simple but lovely tune, that for me over the years, in all its simpliciy, remained one of the best rock or pop songs, whatever you wanna call it, ever written and it was a part of my life ever since the first time I heard it. I would like to thank you, Richie, for it gave and still gives me so much pleasure and reminds me of a beautiful period in my life.

  11. Oh boy, the songs on those set lists!

I was completely surprised at seeing “Sad Memory” on the list.
What a great choice among a bunch of great choices.
Are any of the shows being filmed for future DVD release? It’s a shame if they’re not.

  13. richie-thank you for the great time at copper mountain. The show was wonderful and it was an honor to meet you after the set. I too am a born again Christian, and it is easy to see that Christ is in you. Most people have to work at their craft, you sir have fun at yours. Even the clouds opened up when you played. thanks for the trip down memory lane and i look forward to seeing you in the future. May God remain in your life-Randy

  14. Richie/Scott/Aaron/Alan and Jesse,
Thanks for the wonderful evening at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA! The sound and the performance was electrifying…..just as you promised Richie before the show…..there was no “letting up”.

RIchie, I hope that old photo brought back some “good” memories for you.

Scott, as per your request….I’m honored to be writing here on this blog for the first time. I thought I would share some thoughts from my heart.

For the countless Richie Furay fans (Poconuts, BS, SHF), you guys know the immense talent this group has. I don’t need to repeat what’s been said here already.

For the people that are curious or newly interested in the Richie Furay Band, here’s what I can tell you. Catch one of the shows if you can, or buy a CD.This group puts it’s heart and soul into each song. As a musician that attended many performances, I left this show feeling good. Maybe it’s Richie’s infectious optimism, I dunno. But I can tell you the sound was tight and upbeat. The songs are based on strong harmonies……you know……the kind that “warms” your soul. You don’t experience that too much nowadays.

Scott, Richie gets his money’s worth out of you. Switching from keyboards, banjo to guitar in one song…….amazing. Great riffs on the solos……

Jesse, your solo was fantastic…..such a beautiful voice.

Alan, didn’t hear a missed beat. I really enjoyed the way you played each tune, not overpowering….kicking the beat up at the right moment…..playing into each song “embellishing” at the right moment.

Aaron, I felt every big note……I think you guys set up the bass amp right in front of me. Great playing dude……enjoyed some of those walking bass lines.

    Anyway, thanks a million!

    Steve R.

  15. do you have your tour dates posted? Just saw the stagecoach clips- really great to hear all of you-any more reunions in the future?

  16. I am a fan from the 70s (actually saw Poco at Buffalo State College) and what was considered a Jesus freak at the time. I can still smile and dance to this music while praising God. Thank you.

  17. Hi Richie,
just wanted to say how much your music has always meant to me, I was lucky enough to meet you at the wildwood when Rusty and marie were married, I have a collection of all my favorite country rock artists on my wall, is there any way I can get a signed photo of you?

    Thanks
