USA Today Buffalo Springfield Tour Review

The tour started off in Oakland and we’ve had some great fans and a lot of fun so far. Here is one of the early reviews, this one is from the USA Today:

  1. Saw the show on Sunday at the Wiltern…in a word: FANTASTIC! Everyone looked, played, and sounded great, and this despite the fact that Mr. Stills looked like his right arm may have been in considerable pain. He played on like a true professional and didn’t let the crowd down in the least.

I think the biggest surprise was how much fun it looked like the guys were having! While we the audience were reliving our youth through their music, so were they! They were grinning from ear-to-ear and trouncing and dueling all over the stage. It was pure joy to watch!

I’m hoping for more shows! The music and the band bring such pleasure to so many people, and it is so great to go to a concert for the MUSIC, not for some theatrical nonsense and costume changes and continual offensive innuendos–or worse–blatant in-your-face R-plus rated vignettes.

I had front-row-center seats, a first for me, and music like that–that comes from the Soul, really reverberates and touches the Souls of all who hear it.

Thanks for such a great show!!! Please add more dates! So many people want to be able to attend a concert an entire family would love. The music is just so great–you gotta keep letting that genie outa the bottle!

  2. I saw the BS Benefit Show in October and the first show of the current tour on 6/1 and lots of their shows in the 60′s….yes, I am a fan! Wow, is the word that fits.

Thanks a lot for the music!

  3. I have to agree with pwhite above. I was at the Bridge School benefit on 10/24 (the night the Giants won the pennant!) and at the Oakland show on 6/2. I too am a veteran of some Springfield shows in the 60s and “Wow” is right. They sounded great and looked to be having a ball together on stage. I can’t wait to see them again. I see the 30 show tour has been postponed until the new year. I’ll be there!

  4. I saw their last show in 68 in Long Beach and the Wiltern Show in LA…The music is still as valid 40 years later. I also think Richie’s voice is better if one can imagine that….I am grateful that I grew up when I did in the 60’2..What a decade! We had the best music! In those days, bands actually had talent.

  5. WOW! This was a revolutionary sound in the 60′s. This is classic music, with very talented musicians. For those of us who could not make the concert, I hope the band members will consider making a DVD of this historical reunion. On a recent CD of Richie’s he did some of his songs like,”Kind Woman” and it sounded great. I hope that the “Bufallo Springfield” will consider putting this out on a DVD for those of us that could not see the performance. Rock On and God Bless, Don

  6. Any word on the BS reunion tour? Neil is saddling up with The Horse by the sounds of it?

Anyone has news or spoken to Richie about it?
